Summer Sunrise

"Summer Sunrise" was inspired by the light of a sunrise as pastel hues hit the waves of the ocean. The abstract was created using a palette knife with overlapping layers of paint and gold leaf to create texture and a glistening effect that relates to the waves of the ocean. The build up of layers of paint are also representative of the many layers that we have as human beings. Our characteristics, personalities and beliefs often contradict each other but somehow this works to create something unique with much depth and intrigue.
